Meet the Team at Ruter Family Dental
At Ruter DDS, we like to think of ourselves as a family, working together to benefit the people of the greater Aurora, Indiana, community. We value patience, personal relationships, and professional excellence. Douglas R. Ruter grew up in southeastern Indiana as did most of the staff.
Our patients enjoy a relaxing, friendly experience, with helpful staff who always have time to sit down and talk with you. From kid’s dental care to senior dental care and everything in between, Ruter Family Dental is your lifelong partner for healthy smiles. We are so proud to have patients who have been with us since they were children and now they have children of their own!

Our Team
Dr. Douglas R. Ruter
Dr. Ruter grew up in Aurora having gone to St. Mary’s grade school and South Dearborn High School. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a biology degree and received his doctorate at the University of Detroit Mercy. He returned to southeastern Indiana to start his practice in 1996. Through the years he has had the opportunity to serve the community he calls his home. Outside of the office, Dr. Ruter enjoys spending time with his wife Christina and three boys, Luke, Zach and Ben. He enjoys vacationing, camping, and simply spending time with his friends and family.
Kasey
Kasey is one of our dental hygienists and has been part of our team since 2010. After graduating from South Ripley High School, she attended the University of Indianapolis and completed her dental hygiene degree at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, Kasey has been married to her husband Adam since 2004 and has two teenage daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family, riding UTVs, and traveling.
Chris
Chris is our office manager. She has been working in the dental field for 13 years beginning as an expanded functions assistant. Having previous experience in the operatory helps her to coordinate the complete dental experience from scheduling and financial assistance to overall patient treatment procedures. Outside of work she loves spending time with her family outdoors. Her interests include being out in the sunshine whether it’s camping, boating or gardening.
Theresa
Theresa received her Associate of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1980 and has worked solely in this practice for 41 years. She and her husband Paul reside in St. Leon, Indiana. Boating at Dale Hollow Lake every summer and spending time with their three children and three grandchildren are favorite pastimes.
Amy
Amy is one of our dental hygienists. She attended the University of Cincinnati, where she graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 2013. Amy joined our team in 2014 and enjoys one-on-one time with patients. She makes sure the patients are comfortable and have a pleasant experience while under her care. Outside of the office, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young boys. They enjoy being outdoors with family and friends.
Tracey
Tracey has been a dental assistant since 1995. She is a certified dental assistant along with continuing her education as an expanded function dental assistant. She loves helping people achieve their dream smile. Her patients appreciate her gentle and compassionate chairside manner. Tracey loves spending time with her husband, David, and their three beautiful daughters, Cheyenne, Allison and Maddison. She enjoys the sun while sitting poolside and looks forward to all their family gatherings.
Sara
Sara is one of our dental assistants. She has been part of our team since 2017. Sara attended East Central High School along with the Versailles Career Center in pursuing her certification in dental assisting. When Sara graduated high school, she worked as a general dental assistant but later furthered her career to become an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant. She is originally from Lawrenceburg but recently moved to Switzerland County where she and her fiancé bought a house. Sara enjoys making memories with her family and traveling in the summer on their Harley.
